The Set Up

I took this picture from the second floor of the education building. You can see that the seating is in a square with the audience sitting under canopies. The band is under the striped canopy in the foreground. The lecturn is next to it. I wondered what the square space in the middle was for. Dr. Oduro said that it is to honor the ancestors. It also was where people danced and took photos.
