Posing with the ChiefDr. Oduro said that in order to purchase the land the seminary is built on, they needed to get permission from the chief of Obiyi, the town nearby. He and his assistent were invited to the Durbar and it was important that we all pose with him. He is the traditional looking man in the center. Arranged in back are the board members of the seminary. Standing on the left is a Mennonite missionary. I believe I remember him telling me that he is the last Mennonite missionary in West Africa because they have turned the work over to the Africans. The two white women are short term missionaries like myself. Sandy in the third row is married to Morris Anderson, another lecturer. He is standng in front by the chief. Annette is in the second row. She is the director of East/West Interknit. She provides scholarships and books to the library and she came to see how her scholars are doing. She was impressed by what they told her of the quality of the school, and their own progress. |
