Rev. Humphrey Ako Akogyeram
Please pray with us that the Lord will bless Humphrey and his family during two years of study toward a Masters of Sacred Theology at Luther Theological Seminary in Philadelphia PA, USA. Humphrey Akogyeram enrolled at the Good News Theological College and Seminary in 1986 after completing a High School. He graduated with a diploma (Honors). Philip and Juliana Bender, a Mennonite missionary couple, sponsored him to continue his theological education in Kumasi, Ghana. He graduated in 1992 and was awarded Diploma in Biblical Studies and an external Diploma in Theology, which was awarded by the University of Ghana. The Good News Theological College and Seminary continued sharpening his skills by asking him to teach at the seminary. After teaching for 6 years the seminary, in collaboration with the International Scholarship Dept. of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) and the Mennonite Board of Missions (MBM), sponsored his education at the Associated Mennonite Biblical Seminary in Elkhart, IN. He graduated in 2000 with a Master of Arts degree in Biblical Studies. Humphrey has since been teaching and holding many positions at the seminary. His extra-curricula activities include teaching Adult Sunday schools, speaking and presenting papers at pastoral conferences and seminars, preaching and researching AICs. He was ordained in 2001 by Trinity Bible Church. He is married to Mary. They have three children - Daniel (15), Sophia (11) and Edmund(9). In 2009, Rev. Humphrey Akogyeram was enrolled at the Lutheran Theological Seminary, Philadelphia, PA to study for a degree of Masters of Sacred Theology. He will be away for two years. Pray also for Mary and the kids as they undergo the emotional pain of separation from a husband and father. Praise the Lord with us also for the opportunity. With the absence of Humphrey and insufficient funds to employ new Faculty members, the Faculty is obviously headed for heavy teaching schedules. Please pray for endurance as the Faculty shares the teaching load of Humphrey.
