Academic Philosophy The entire curriculum is Biblically-centred, authentically Christian and genuinely African. The College and Seminary was founded to offer Biblical, pastoral and theological education, to encourage inter-church discussion and study and to document Christian experience that is peculiar to Africa. The major aim is to make this education available to the leadership of African Independent Churches (AICs) of Ghana and other African countries. African Independent Churches are churches planted, shepherded, administered, and funded by Africans for the purpose of proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ and worshipping God in the context and worldview of Africa. Beginning as a small part-time programme in 1971, GNTCS has assisted in training many leaders to become pastors, evangelists, Bible teachers and expositors, church planters, missionaries, counselors, child evangelists, theologians and in many other fields of Christian ministry. Good News Theological College and Seminary (GNTCS) aims at making Biblical, theological, and pastoral education available and affordable to leaders and members of Churches and denominations who cherish a high level of practical and balanced education in an African context yet do not have facilities and resources of their own to fulfill their dreams. The College/Seminary does not only educate aspiring leaders of the church, it aims at raising the level of Biblical knowledge and pastoral skills of those who are already serving in ministry. The educational programmes are, therefore, designed to meet the needs of many different churches, those who are responding to their calls and those who are already in ministry. As an inter-denominational school, the College/Seminary neither teach the doctrines and practices of any individual church nor criticize their teachings and rituals. GNTCS offers a unique opportunity to church workers and leaders to learn to know one another on a personal basis and to discover the common ground of faith and trust in Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour among different denominations and church groups. The major emphasis at GNTCS is revealing God's plan of redemption in the Holy Bible, teaching both the Old and New Testaments and applying them to daily lifestyles. Quoting John 13:17 "Now that you know these, blessed are you if you do them" at the bottom of our letterhead reinforces our belief in knowledge and practice. The entire curriculum is, therefore, Biblically-centred, authentically Christian and genuinely African. The goal is to help students improve their understanding and knowledge of the Word of God, deepen their commitment as followers of Jesus Christ, consider themselves as servants and raise the level of their effectiveness in ministry. In addition to their academic studies, learners are given individual attention by the staff of the College/Seminary in the development of their spirituality and personal Christian life. The Board of Governors of the College/Seminary and the faculty and staff view themselves as servants of the Church through our Lord Jesus Christ.
